This Spicy Tuna Bean Burger is a yummy dinner time meal which is easy to make, tasty, high in protein and low in carbs.

This recipe makes two Burgers!

  • 1/2 a Tin of Tuna
  • 1/2 a Tin of mixed beans (I used spicy ones)
  • 1/2 a small white onion
  • 1/2 tea spoon of paprika
  • 1/2 tea spoon of Tumeric
  • Pinch of chilli seeds

Tip the Tuna in to a bowl. Add the Beans to the same bowl. Stir and then mash it so the beans are no longer whole.

Slice the onion and add it to a hot frying pan with some olive or coconut oil.

Cook until the onion goes soft, then add the spices.

Add the hot to the cold and mix it all together. Place the bowl with all the ingredients in the fridge for an hour.

When you are ready, use a burger press or your hands to mold the mixture in to burger shapes.

Coat the uncooked burger with flour before placing in a hot already oiled pan.

Remember that the ingredients don’t really need cooking, so you just need to warm it through and crisp the outer edges to your own tasting.

The picture above you can see I had half a fresh wholemeal bum with cheese and salad. Other times I have used avocado, hallumi and salad. Or in a pitta bread. Try your own alternatives and share them.
